About Us
The law is the cement of society and essential medium of change.
Education, especially the legal education makes a citizen responsible,
vibrant and constructive. The law transforms the society, and legal
education encourages the citizen to think about transformation or
reform.
Legal Education and its teaching in India now are on the crossroads.
Conventional law teaching with its traditional subjects is no more
adequate even to court practice. It is now challenged and beset with
emerging technical scientific and business issues. On the other hand, to
mitigate the demands of professionals in corporate legal service sector,
law needs to be technically focused and articulated. Demand of technical
laws are increasing with the growth of regulatory authorities which
requires techno-legal solution by the law officials in any organization,
particularly, to reduce the cost of litigation either in court or
tribunal. So what is the need of the hour being to customize law with
science, management and engineering. Corporate Sector and Universities
are coming forward to shape the legal education with their dynamic
knowledge of engineering, management and technology. With these
perspective, Department of Law of UEM offers 5 years integrated
undergraduate courses in law (BBA.LLB (Hons.) approved by Bar Council of
India) that has been carefully crafted and designed to prepare its
graduates for rewarding careers in legal service organizations, apart
from court practices.
