Biotechnology, the technology harnessing cellular and bio-molecular processes to develop procedures and products, has amalgamated biology and technology. It has the fundamental aim to improve the quality of life. Today Biotechnology finds its wide applications and has potential impact on virtually all domains of human welfare; hence the scenario of Biotechnology in the world is changing rapidly and dynamically. Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary subject, resting on its diverse opportunities, Department of Biotechnology, University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata has framed the departmental syllabus and the curriculum to produce technically skilled engineers to compete with the growing pace worldwide.

  • PEO 1: The program ensures that students have a strong foundation in the principles and practices of Biotechnology, along with knowledge of science and mathematics.
  • PEO 2: The program will empower students with application-oriented domain knowledge and skills, enabling them to emerge as capable and competent biotechnologists on a global scale.
