Education Through Service
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Jaipur is committed to nurturing socially responsible, disciplined and compassionate youth through meaningful community engagement and voluntary service.
UEM Jaipur received its NSS affiliation in 2025, and one NSS Unit is presently functioning at the University. Since its establishment, the NSS Unit has actively worked towards promoting social awareness, environmental consciousness, national integration, health and well-being, and community development among students.
The NSS Unit provides students with opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-life social responsibilities. Through various programmes and activities, volunteers are encouraged to understand the needs of society and contribute towards building a more inclusive, sustainable and developed nation.

The Spirit Behind NSS
The motto of the National Service Scheme is “Not Me, But You.” This motto reflects the essence of democratic living and selfless service. It reminds every NSS volunteer that the welfare of an individual is closely connected with the welfare of society.
The motto inspires volunteers to place the needs of the community above personal interests and encourages them to develop a spirit of cooperation, empathy and collective responsibility.
Through the philosophy of “Not Me, But You,” NSS seeks to develop young individuals who are willing to serve society and contribute towards the progress of the nation.

Message from the NSS Programme Officer
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the University of Engineering and Management, Jaipur.
NSS is not merely an activity; it is a platform that inspires young minds to develop a sense of responsibility towards society and the nation. Through voluntary service, students learn the values of empathy, discipline, teamwork, leadership and social commitment.
Since receiving its NSS affiliation in 2025, the NSS Unit of UEM Jaipur has been making sincere efforts to engage students in activities related to community service, environmental conservation, health awareness, national integration and youth development. Our objective is to encourage students to become responsible citizens who are sensitive to the needs and challenges of society.
The spirit of NSS lies in learning through service. Every activity provides an opportunity for volunteers to understand society more closely and contribute positively towards its development.
I appreciate the enthusiasm and dedication of our NSS volunteers and faculty coordinators. I firmly believe that the collective efforts of our young volunteers will continue to contribute towards the vision of a stronger, healthier, sustainable and developed India.

Building Responsible Citizens
The National Service Scheme aims to develop the personality and character of young people through voluntary community service. The major areas of focus of the NSS Unit at UEM Jaipur include the following:
Community Service
NSS encourages students to actively participate in programmes addressing community needs and contributing towards social welfare. Through awareness campaigns, village outreach, and cleanliness initiatives, volunteers develop a deeper understanding of social issues and their responsibilities towards society. The NSS Unit seeks to create a strong connection between students and the community, encouraging them to work for the welfare and empowerment of people.
National Development & Integration
NSS plays an important role in promoting the spirit of patriotism, national unity and responsible citizenship among young people. Activities related to national days, Tiranga campaigns, rallies and awareness programmes encourage students to understand the importance of India’s unity in diversity and their role in nation-building. The NSS Unit at UEM Jaipur strives to develop socially conscious youth who can contribute meaningfully towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Environment & Sustainability
Environmental protection and sustainable development are important areas of focus for the NSS Unit. The Unit promotes environmental awareness through activities such as:
- ›Tree plantation drives
- ›Water conservation awareness
- ›Cleanliness campaigns
- ›Promotion of sustainable practices
- ›Biodiversity and bird protection initiatives
- ›Community awareness regarding environmental conservation
Through such activities, NSS volunteers are encouraged to understand their responsibility towards protecting nature and ensuring a sustainable future.
Health, Well-being & Social Awareness
NSS promotes awareness regarding physical health, mental well-being, yoga and healthy lifestyles. The Unit encourages students to participate in programmes that promote health consciousness, substance abuse prevention and positive lifestyle practices. Special initiatives are undertaken to spread awareness about social challenges and encourage young people to make informed and responsible choices.
Holistic Development of Students
NSS provides students with opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. Participation in NSS activities helps volunteers develop:

Major Activities of NSS, UEM Jaipur
Since its affiliation in 2025, the NSS Unit has undertaken programmes focusing on community service, environmental conservation, national awareness, health and youth development.
World Environment Day 2026
NSS Unit conducted activities promoting environmental conservation, tree plantation, bird welfare, and biodiversity protection across the campus.
Programme Highlights
Tree Plantation Drive: Approximately 100 saplings were planted across the campus with active involvement of students, faculty, and staff to enhance green cover and promote ecological awareness.
Bird Water Pots Initiative: 50 bird water feeders were installed at campus locations to provide birds drinking water during hot summer months, promoting compassion towards urban wildlife.
Campus Cleanliness Drive: Students, faculty, and staff collectively participated in cleaning university areas, emphasizing personal responsibility for environmental hygiene.
Awareness Address: An introductory address highlighted the importance of sustainable living, responsible use of natural resources, and protection of biodiversity.
Yoga Sangam 2026
On the International Day of Yoga, the NSS Unit participated in Yoga Sangam 2026, promoting physical health, mental well-being, and balanced lifestyle.
Programme Highlights
International Day of Yoga: Organized to mark the International Day of Yoga, reinforcing UEM Jaipur’s commitment to holistic student development through physical and mental wellness.
Asanas & Breathing Techniques: Practical demonstrations of yoga asanas and pranayama were conducted, providing students useful wellness knowledge to integrate into daily life.
Well-being Awareness: The programme sensitized participants to the importance of mental well-being, emotional balance, mindfulness, concentration, and self-awareness.
Yoga Sangam Patra: The enthusiastic participation of 102 students was formally recognized through the Yoga Sangam Patra certificate.
Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat
A special telecast sensitizing students about substance abuse and highlighting youth’s vital role in building a drug-free, developed India.
Programme Highlights
Mann Ki Baat Telecast: Students collectively participated in the live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme, listening to the national message about maintaining a drug-free society.
Substance Abuse Awareness: Students were sensitized to the physical, psychological, social, and economic consequences of substance abuse and encouraged to make responsible choices.
Youth as Change-Makers: The programme reinforced that young people can play a vital role through everyday choices, peer influence, and social participation in promoting healthier communities.
Viksit Bharat Vision: Students were encouraged to channel their energy into education, sports, creativity, and social service, contributing positively to India’s development journey.
Tiranga Rally — Har Ghar Tiranga
A spirited Tiranga Rally at UEM Jaipur and Udaipuria Village promoting patriotism, national consciousness, and respect for the Indian National Flag.
Programme Highlights
Inauguration by Registrar: The rally was formally inaugurated and flagged off by the Registrar, Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, creating an atmosphere of national pride and enthusiasm.
Community Outreach: The rally extended to Udaipuria Village (Block Chomu, Jaipur), with Government School students also participating, strengthening university-community bonds.
Flag Distribution: Approximately 500 Indian National Flags were distributed among local residents, shops, and establishments for the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
Patriotic Slogans: Students carried the Tricolour and raised slogans: “Har Ghar Tiranga, Ghar Ghar Tiranga – Rashtra Prem Ka Sankalp Hamaara.”
National Sports Day 2026
Celebrating the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, promoting sports, fitness, teamwork and discipline among students.
Programme Highlights
Tribute to Major Dhyan Chand: Basketball matches were organized in memory of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player of India whose birth anniversary is celebrated as National Sports Day.
Sports & Fitness Promotion: The programme highlighted the critical role of sports in developing discipline, teamwork, leadership and physical fitness among students.
Student Engagement: Enthusiastic student participation reflected the growing culture of physical health and active participation nurtured by the NSS Unit at UEM Jaipur.
Sadbhawna Diwas
The NSS Unit observed Sadbhawna Diwas to reaffirm the values of peace, harmony, mutual respect and national unity.
Programme Highlights
Unity in Diversity: The programme reminded students that the strength of India lies in its unity in diversity, encouraging them to promote understanding, goodwill and humanity in society.
Values of Peace & Harmony: Students reaffirmed the values of peace, harmony, mutual respect and national unity, committing to carry these values into their daily lives.
Community Commitment: The event encouraged active participation in promoting social harmony and responsible citizenship, reinforcing the spirit of the NSS motto.
