About the Initiative

Empowering Youth for a Drug-Free India

As part of the initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of UEM Jaipur organized a special telecast programme on 2 August 2026 under the theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.”

The programme was organized with the objective of sensitizing young students about the growing social and personal consequences of substance abuse and highlighting the significant role of youth in realizing the vision of a developed and progressive India.

The programme provided students with an opportunity to participate collectively in a national-level awareness initiative and listen to the message delivered by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, through his “Mann Ki Baat” programme.

The event emphasized responsible citizenship, healthy living, self-discipline, and active youth participation in addressing important social challenges.

“Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat”

A national message encouraging young citizens to make responsible choices.

The special telecast was organized at UEM Jaipur and witnessed enthusiastic participation from 240 students. Students assembled for the programme and participated collectively in the live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s “Mann Ki Baat.”

The programme provided a meaningful platform for students to listen to and reflect upon the national message concerning the importance of maintaining a drug-free society. The theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” placed particular emphasis on the role of young people in creating a healthier social environment and contributing positively to the development of the country.

During the session, the importance of keeping the younger generation away from substance abuse was highlighted. Students were encouraged to understand that addiction does not affect only an individual but can also have wider consequences for families, educational institutions, workplaces, communities, and society as a whole.

The programme therefore emphasized prevention, awareness, responsible decision-making, and collective social action.

The participation of 240 students reflected the strong interest and enthusiasm of the student community towards social awareness and nation-building initiatives.

Students listened attentively to the Prime Minister’s address and actively engaged with the central message of the programme.

The collective participation created an environment of awareness and reflection among the students. It enabled them to understand the importance of individual responsibility in preventing substance abuse and encouraged them to recognize their potential role in spreading awareness among friends, peers, families, and the wider community.

The programme also reinforced the idea that young people are not merely beneficiaries of social development programmes but can become active contributors and change-makers. Through their everyday choices, peer influence, and social participation, students can play an important role in promoting healthier communities.

Through this programme, the NSS and Yuva Bharat Unit contributed to the larger objective of creating awareness among young people regarding substance abuse and encouraging them to become active participants in the movement towards a healthier and drug-free society.

The initiative also complemented the broader vision of Viksit Bharat by emphasizing that national development requires not only economic and technological progress but also a healthy, responsible, aware and socially conscious youth population.

National Sports Day 2026 | A Tribute to Major Dhyan ChandThe National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Unit, UEM Jaipur, celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2026, paying a heartfelt tribute to the legendary hockey wizard, Major Dhyan Chand.More than 80 students enthusiastically participated in the celebration, which promoted the values of physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.The programme commenced with students gathering at the Basketball Court, where a respectful tribute was paid to Major Dhyan Chand.
