The University of Engineering and Management Jaipur has commenced a 5-day Professional Development Program starting from 10 June, 2024 to 14 June, 2024. The first day began with an inauguration ceremony, including a welcome note by Prof. (Dr.) Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Management, Jaipur. In his address, he welcomed all experts, dignitaries, and participants, highlighting the engaging and diverse range of topics that make this PDP particularly interesting.
Following the welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Yadav, Associate Dean of Academics and Foreign Relations, elaborated on the objectives of the PDP.
The expert speaker for Session I was Dr. Sheikh Subidh Ali from IIT Bhilai, who discussed the nuances of DeepFakes and the technology behind creating DeepFake videos. His extensive lecture covered topics such as neural networks and their loss functions, convolutional neural networks, autoencoders, generative adversarial networks, types of DeepFakes, and the general steps involved in creating DeepFakes. The session was highly appreciated by all participants.
Session II featured Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Palwalia, Dean of Academics at RTU Kota, who delivered a detailed presentation on NBA and NAAC accreditations. He emphasized the importance of accreditation for higher education institutions, provided an overview of the NBA accreditation process, and discussed the benefits of NBA and NAAC accreditations. Additionally, he covered the general principles of learning outcomes, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and the structure of CO statements. His comprehensive talk thoroughly explored the processes of NAAC and NBA accreditation.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ankit Sharma, HoD of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Notably, the entire session was moderated by Dr. Snehlata Dhaka, Associate Professor in the Department of English, with technical support provided by Prof. Dipta Mukerjee, Proctor at UEM Jaipur. The sessions were attended by 80 faculty members.
