University of Engineering and Management, Jaipur hosts sanitary hygiene awareness drive.
In a commendable initiative to promote health and hygiene among rural communities, the University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Jaipur, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), organized a significant event focused on the distribution of sanitary napkins and an awareness drive. This event aimed at educating students and rural residents about menstrual hygiene and the importance of adopting sanitary practices.
The event was spearheaded by Dr. B. S. Yadav, the Director of Physical Education and Program Officer for NSS at UEM Jaipur. Dr. Yadav, along with a dedicated team of faculty and staff members, ensured the smooth execution of the program.
The event featured a comprehensive awareness session where experts demonstrated the correct usage of sanitary napkins and discussed the health benefits of maintaining menstrual hygiene. The discussions emphasized how proper menstrual practices can prevent infections and improve the overall well-being of women.
Faculty members and staff played an active role in engaging with the attendees, ensuring that the message was effectively communicated. They addressed common myths and misconceptions about menstruation, creating a more informed and supportive environment for the participants.
Following the awareness session, 960 sanitary napkins were distributed among the students and the rural community members present at the event. This practical gesture not only provided immediate assistance but also symbolized the university’s commitment to supporting rural health initiatives.
The collaborative effort by UEM Jaipur, NSS, and UBA highlights the importance of educational institutions in driving social change. By addressing critical health issues and fostering an environment of awareness and support, such events pave the way for healthier and more informed communities.

The successful execution of this event under Dr. Yadav’s coordination reflects the proactive approach of UEM Jaipur towards societal responsibilities and the promotion of good health practices. This initiative serves as a model for other institutions to follow, demonstrating that education extends beyond the classroom to encompass community well-being and development.
