Celebrating Physiotherapy Week at UEM Jaipur The University of Engineering & Management (UEM) Jaipur proudly hosted *Physiotherapy Week* from September 2nd to 8th, 2024. This enriching event, organized by our Department of Physiotherapy, featured daily sessions from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, bringing together experts and students to explore critical health topics. On September 4th, we were honored to have Dr. Imran Khan and Prof. Subhra Banerjee lead sessions on "Ergonomics and Injury Prevention in Sports" and "Optimizing Gut Health: The Role of Gut Microbiota and Physiotherapy," respectively. These insightful presentations were particularly well-received by our management students, who found the discussions highly relevant and impactful. Resource Person: Ms. Srishti Saini Designation: Project Engineer and Trainer: AI/ML Company: Frontline Softech Private Limited Main points covered in the workshop: Journey into AI and ML: Ms. Saini shared her unique transition from Civil engineering to AI and ML, providing insights into her inspiring journey. She recounted her valuable experiences working with scientists at the CSIR-CRRI lab. At just 25 years of age, Ms. Saini is doing a commendable job by pursuing PhD at CSIR-CRRI, specializing in the Application of AI for Road Safety. Alongside her doctoral studies, she works as a Project Engineer in AI-ML and a Trainer at Frontline Softech Pvt. Ltd., Noida. The idea is to develop a comprehensive AI-driven driver monitoring system adaptable to commercial fleets, ride-sharing, logistics, and private vehicles to enhance safety and reduce accidents. Market Focus: Deploy an AI-powered drowsiness detection solution for trucking, public transport, and logistics to proactively prevent accidents and improve safety. Scalable Product: Create a compact, cost-effective device or software that uses sensors, cameras, and AI to monitor driver behavior in real-time, alerting drivers or fleet managers to signs of fatigue or distraction. Expand Beyond Drowsiness: Develop a suite of AI-based safety features—like lane departure warnings, collision alerts, speed monitoring, and pedestrian detection—to create a comprehensive road safety platform. Leverage Data for Insights: Utilize the collected data to offer predictive analytics for optimized route planning, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance, building a complete AI-driven ecosystem for transportation safety. The UEM Jaipur ACM Student Chapter, in collaboration with Codesta, IIC, and IQAC, hosted a workshop titled "Git & GitHub Workshop: Mastering Version Control" on August 23rd, 27th, and 31st, 2024. The workshop was led by Piyush Kumar Rai, a 3rd-year CSE student and Vice Chair of the UEM Jaipur ACM Student Chapter. The workshop covered: - Basics of Git: Tracking changes and managing project history. - Practical exercises: Cloning repositories, adding files, and pushing updates. - GitHub as a platform: Creating branches, resolving conflicts, and merging code. Students were actively engaged in the sessions, participating in Q&A and hands-on activities. The workshop concluded with a felicitation ceremony where Piyush Kumar Rai was honored by the Associate Dean of Engineering and HOD of CSE, Prof. Dr. G Uma Devi, along with faculty coordinators Prof. Sagarika Ghosh and Prof. Sourav Kumar. The event aimed to equip students with invaluable skills for their academic and professional journeys. Students of University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur organized an inter-college computer gaming competition in the weekends, where participants from colleges across Rajasthan participated. Two gaming competitions were organized - Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Valorant. There were 45 participating teams, and five teams emerged champions. We believe whereas study throughout the week is necessary, little relaxation in the weekends are also necessary, specially those which give the brain to be exercised silently. We are happy that our students of UEM JAIPUR are trying it out all round.
