Shri. G.K. Pillai, IAS (Rtd.)

Chancellor
Shri Gopal K. Pillai did B.Sc in physics and chemistry from St Joseph s College, Bangalore. By the time he appeared for his civil service exams, he had also completed an M.Sc from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, Gopal K. Pillai, IAS, belongs to the Kerala cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (1972 batch) and is today the Union Home Secretary, concurrently holding the post of Secretary of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice. Currently, he is the chairman of Tata International. G.K. Pillai has a distinguished service record. Among his many appointments at both state and national level, he was Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala before becoming Special Secretary in the Commerce Ministry, India’s chief negotiator at WTO, and Chairman, Board of Approvals for Special Economic Zones. During the tenure of this last role, over 500 Special Economic Zones as tax-exempt export enclaves zones were approved, and are expected to employ around one million people.
G.K. Pillai has represented the State and Central Government on delegations to USA, EU, Argentina, Brazil, DRC, Singapore, Japan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Canada, Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, U.K., Thailand and Slovenia. He is renowned as a tough negotiator on behalf of national interests with a reputation as a thorough gentleman and a stickler for playing by the rule book.

Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti

Vice Chancellor
Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti did his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from REC, Durgapur (NIT, Durgapur). He then went to IIT, Kharagpur to complete his M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. He has done his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Burdwan University. He has also completed MBA from Missori University, USA. He has done research in the field of Machine Tools, Industrial Electronics, Aviation, Alternate Fuel and Robotics.
Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti after doing Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur, joined Steel Authority of India (SAIL) as Chief and was in-charge of Western Region in India for 13 years. (1971 to 1984). Then he worked as Vice President in British America Investors Corporation at World Trade Centre (BAICORP), New York, USA. (1984 to 1994). After that he worked as Director of Institute of Engineering & Management, Salt Lake, Kolkata (www.iemcal.com). (1994 to 2011). He was also associated West Bengal Higher Education Council (1997 to 2006) and worked as consultant to Chairman of Coal India Limited (2 years) for marketing of coal (1997-1999) and Vizag Port Trust as consultant (2 years) for material chandelling in Port (2000-2002). At present he is working as Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur. (www.uem.edu.in). (since 2011 & continuing).
He is the Recipient of IETE Gold Medal for highest contribution in Indian Industrial Electronics that happened during last 10 years (1999). He is also the Recipient of Edupreneur award from MHRD in 2013 for highest contribution in the field of education.

In spite of busy schedules for being the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Chakrabarti willingly takes pain to encourage the students to appreciate rather than to criticize and leaves no opportunity for them to drift away and waste their precious time of life. By virtue of separate special classes being lectured him, the students of the university are encouraged to make a habit of doing things now, develop an attitude of gratitude, get into continuous education program, built positive self-esteem, stay away from negative influences, learn to do things that need to be done, start the day with a positive attitude. Prof. D.N. Rao

Prof. Dr. D.N. Rao, B.Tech (NIT, Suratkal), M.Tech (IIT, Bombay), Ph.D (Osmania University, Hyderabad)), CFA (ICFAI)
Prof. Rao has over 33 years of diverse experience in teaching, research, management consulting, academic administration and industry. During long span of his career, he was associated with reputed institutes and universities of Srilanka, Middle East and West Africa for 12 years (1993-2007). Currently, he is associated with the University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur (UEMJ) as Chief Executive Officer, responsible for academic and administrative functions of the University.
Prior to joining (UEMJ), Prof. Rao served as Vice Chancellor of Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur (March 2013-July 2015). He also held distinguished academic and leadership positions – President (Kings University, Ghana), Senior Vice President (TCS), Senior Vice President (Amity University), Director (AIMA-CME) during the years 2007-15). He was also associated with Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi as a Research Associate and Faculty Member respectively during the years (1987-94). Prof. Rao was recipient of prestigious fellowships of Canadian International Development Agency (1990) and Asian Productivity Organisation (1996). His current areas of teaching and research are Strategic Management, Mutual Funds, Investment & Portfolio Management and Economic Research. He has published over 45 research articles in National and International Journals. His Global Author Rank in the US based Social Sciences Research Network (SSRN) is 607 out of 3,11,345 (within top 1% of Global authors). His research papers have over 25,000 total downloads and over 110,000 total abstract reviews. His pioneering research work in the field of Investment Styles and Performance of Mutual Funds was highly acknowledged and are much cited by various international journals.

Prof. Aniruddha Mukherjee

As a part of UEM family he has always tried to inculcate the values that he had learnt and practiced during his days as a student in NIT Silchar and Jadavpur University.
Soon after graduating he joined industry and had to work with some of the best in business.
After a brief stint with the industry for about 7 years he joined academics.
Prof. Aniruddha Mukherjee is in this realm for the last 12 years of which almost 5 years is with IEM Group.
He is also the recipient of RASHTRIYA VIDYA GAURAV PURASKAR.

With publications ranging from various International conferences and journals of repute he always believe in imparting knowledge based education -beyond classroom study.
As an Electrical Engineer he strongly believe that the field of study in this area has undergone lot of changes, from Power system to Bio-electromagnetics and beyond.
