Prof. Dr. Kartik Sau, Prof. Sumit Bal, Prof. Ria Roy Choudhury and Prof. Ankana Ghosh Dastidar of UEM Kolkata, were felicitated with the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Teacher Excellence Award, 2021, in the award ceremony conducted by Shikshak Kalyan Foundation at the Constitutional Club, New Delhi, in the August presence of Hon'ble Dr Subhash Sarkar Union Minister of State of Education and Prof S P Singh Baghel, Union Minister of state Law & Justice and other dignitaries.

ECE department is going to organize one virtual industrial tour on 21st February,2022

IIIJS (Law Department) of University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata always thrives to cater to the all-round development of their students. The main focus of this department has always been on improving the Soft Skills amongst it's students. With this intention in mind an "EXTEMPORE COMPETITION" has been organized by the Department of Law for the students of 4th semester (2020 Batch) on 17th February, 2022 (Thursday). The objective of this competition is to make the students confident and better orators so that they can fearlessly express their views on any topic. Extempore is an excellent way to assist the students not only in spontaneous thinking but also in asserting their creative ideas with precision.

The University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata is proud to announce that our students from the project The Data Guard have secured Second position in IISF 2021 in the category of National Defence Technologies. The project was shortlisted from top 200 to top 50 which eventually invited the group members to represent their project in Goa, Panaji. Prof Sumit Anand has been the mentor of this project. Team leader Sandeep Singh along with Sneha Bhargav went to the offline representation which was sponsored by IISF. The other team members were Khushi Dugar, Gaurav Pathak and Arif Mahmood participated via online. This project is mainly developed for the protection of data from getting breached. If someone tries to get unauthorized access to our system without proper permission, in that case, some payload or trojans are made hidden so that, the payload gets transferred to the attacker’s system. As soon as the attacker decrypts the data packets received from our system, the payload too gets executed and the attacker’s system will be under our grip of control

Students of UEM KOLKATA have achieved BEST INNOVATOR AWARD in EASTERN ZONAL INNOVATORS-INDUSTRY MEET (EZIIM2021) organized by Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). Universities / Institutions from Eastern India have participated in this event. The project, "CARE FREE SOLE", was highly appreciated by Academicians, CTOs and other delegates from IETE Headquarters, Delhi. This team was invited to represent at IETE HEADQUARTERS DELHI. Our Team got recognition from General Bipin Rawat, Defence Chief, India, PVSM,UYSM,AVSM,YSM,SM,VSM,ADC on 29th August 2021.

On Earth Day 2022, i.e., 22nd April, University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata is organizing a 2 day International Conference, UEMGREEN 2022, in Hybrid Mode. The theme of the conference is Green Computing. Green Computing refers to environmentally sustainable computing. It is the study and practice of using computing resources efficiently by designing, manufacturing, using and disposing of computers parts with minimal or no impact on the environment. The Conference, UEMGREEN 2022, provides a unique opportunity for researchers and developers to share progress and their views on Green Computing and related areas. Participants can exchange ideas and gain information on the particular technology. A mix of plenary talks and paper presentation will be there at the conference. Email for contact: [email protected]

DST (SERB) Project Review Meeting is scheduled to be held on 18th & 19th February, 2022 at UEM, Kolkata Campus.

All the Girl Students are hereby notified that the Women’s Self Defence Workshop is being rescheduled on 10th February 2022 (Thursday) from 03 - 04 PM. This workshop will be on PHYSICAL MODE & not online. Reporting: 01:00 PM Sharp at UEM Campus (B2 LG 1.1). Event will be conducted in offline mode subject to strict adherence of Covid-19 Protocol. .
