At INDUSTRY ACADEMIA CONCLAVE, organized by MAKAUT more than 50 institution had participated. MAKAUT has appreciated 10 best models, out of which 3 models were prepared by IEM students. 2nd year student Riddhi Dutta of the University if Engineering & Management (UEM) Kolkata bagged first prize in the event "WELCOME To The Machine", a coding competition held at techfest organised by The Department of Physics, St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, annual departmental fest "SPECTRUM 2017" on March 20, 2017.

University of Engineering & Management (UEM) is proud to share the post of Ms. Sumedha Bhattacharyya, alumni member of University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, who has posted about her travel with Prof. Egil Bakka (the legendary professor of Norwegian University of Science & Technology). Sumedha got jobs in Infosys and Cognizant. But afterwards she received the prestigious Erasmus Mundus scholarship to study in 6 different countries of Europe, and she opted for that. She has described her post as:- "Traveling the Heritage ? With Prof. Egil Bakka himself , the panel of Intangible Cultural Heritage."

A bunch of students from University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata have launched a start-up - a media company named Ekapiens. They have already tied up with several colleges and Universities as Media partner. They are also the media partners of Techkriti - Technical Festival of IIT Kanpur. They have covered the Technocruise - Technical Festival held in association of University of Engineering & Management (UEM) and IIT Kanpur.
