University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur is proud to share that Dr. Gaurav Shrivastava, Associate Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, has been honoured with two remarkable recognitions at KashiCon 2025, the 2-Day International Conference held at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi on 22nd & 23rd November. Dr. Gaurav Shrivastava was bestowed with the prestigious title of Sessional Chairperson for the scientific session on “Geriatric Sports Injuries & Rehabilitation.” The conference theme, “Assisting Technology: Empowering Aging,” served as a powerful platform for discussing technological advancements, innovative rehabilitation approaches, and evidence-based geriatric care. His leadership in facilitating insightful discussions with national and international experts added immense value to the event. In addition, Dr. Gaurav was also honoured with the “Best Academician Award,” recognizing his continued commitment to academic excellence, clinical innovation, and meaningful contributions to physiotherapy education and research. The summit reflected the shared vision that an educated daughter is the foundation of a progressive and prosperous Rajasthan. The event saw enthusiastic participation from UEM Jaipur’s leadership, faculty members, and girl students, showcasing the university’s deep commitment to nurturing confident, capable, and future-ready women. UEM Jaipur was represented by Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma (Registrar & Provost), Prof. Dr. Preeti Sharma, Dr. Sapna Malla, Dr. Neha Vyas, Dr. Shweta Pareek, Dr. Risha Sharma, Dr. Ruma Rajbhar, along with a vibrant group of girl students, symbolising an inclusive and empowering academic culture. Under the aegis of the Center of Sustainable Innovations for Clean Future (SICF), students from the Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering departments of University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Jaipur visited Biogas Plant at LNMIIT Jaipur for an industrial tour. The visit, organized by Prof. Mandeep Singh with the support of Prof. Umesh Gurnani, provided an enriching experience where students witnessed cutting-edge technologies in action. During the visit, students observed live demonstrations of advanced manufacturing and automation systems, including VMC (Vertical Machining Center), EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), Plasma Arc Cutting, and Underwater/Submerged Arc Welding. These processes are widely used in high-precision engineering and modern fabrication industries. Additionally, students got hands-on exposure to PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and automation systems, understanding their critical role in industrial control and smart manufacturing. The highlight of the visit was an interaction with a Humanoid Robot, showcasing the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence in industrial applications. The students were guided by LNMIIT, Jaipur team, who provided technical insights and industry-oriented knowledge. The visit not only enhanced their understanding of advanced manufacturing but also inspired them to explore emerging trends in engineering and automation. Students of the BPT Department, University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, continued their advanced clinical training on Day 2 of the Khelo India University Games 2025 under the expert supervision of Dr. Imran Khan, State Physiotherapy Official. Throughout the event, students engaged in hands-on sports physiotherapy practices including: On-field injury management Kinesio taping and manual therapy Athlete screening and assessment Sideline rehabilitation and recovery support This immersive exposure provided: Real-time insight into sports-specific injuries Practical application of mobilization and taping techniques in high-intensity match scenarios Direct interaction with national-level athletes, enhancing decision-making and treatment precision By observing immediate treatment outcomes and responding to live match demands, our students strengthened their clinical confidence, sports rehabilitation skills, and understanding of evidence-based athlete care. This valuable experiential learning, made possible through the leadership and guidance of Dr. Imran Khan, demonstrates UEM Jaipur’s commitment to preparing highly competent physiotherapy professionals capable of delivering excellence in competitive sports environments.
