Every year on the 14th December, National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated in India. This occasion has been celebrated since 1991 when is led by the Ministry of power. This day is celebrated to raise awareness regarding the conservation of energy as it is the best way to have a greener and brighter future. To observe Energy Conservation Day at University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur, Department of Electrical Engineering in association with Institution's Innovation Council organized an " Energy Awareness Quiz", on Dec.14, 2023. We feel very happy with our students of first year of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR working under the technical body named Shunya Club at the University. They have won the Nextech Innovation Challenge at IIIT Delhi, by developing this MedTech Gloves, which are smart medical assistant for doctors, nurse and hospital staffs. The gloves can detect any abnormality in body function of any human being, who has wore it, at any point of time, and report it to the nearest medical facility and doctor, enabling nearest hospital and ambulance to pick up the patient. This can save a patient from sudden heart attack, and other health conditions. They have secured 1st position among 185 teams from all over the country. The team members were:- - Yogesh Tapariya - Raj Krish - Abhishek Gupta - Suman Maity under the supervision of Divyansh Sachdev, 3rd year student of UEM JAIPUR, founding member of this Shunya Club at UEM JAIPUR. UEM Jaipur students participated In Toastmasters Event UEM Jaipur students participated in District 98 - Division C Conference on December 3 2023 at JECRC Foundation, Jaipur. Overall twelve students attended the program under the guidance of Prof. Sanchari Basak. The event started with inauguration and introductory speech of Toastmaster Hardik Shah, Area Director of Mumbai Toastmasters Club. Toastmaster Pragya, Area Director of Rajasthan Toastmasters Club hosted the District 98 Championship contest where all the 8 area champions delivered their stories and evaluation of other Toastmasters with effective communication skills, dramaturgy and eloquence using proper stage movement and time management. Students have learnt the process of regular meetings, the role of the members in the club and the pathway to be a public speaker with leadership skills. The program was further proceeded by Toastmaster Avijot Singh Ghai, keynote speaker who shared his journey to be a Toastmaster and explained the significance of effective communication in our professional and personal life. He also conducted a game which helped to build up active interaction among the audience. Then Toastmaster Vishal Garg, Director of District 98 shared the progress report of the clubs in each area which highlighted their annual achievements and future goals. Next the winner of the contest was declared and felicitated with medal and certificate. In the last session the newly joined members in different Toastmasters clubs gave their Ice-Breaker Speech. The spirit of the program and its positive attitude encouraged and inspired the students to be future Toastmasters.
