Industrial Visit to HWP NPCIL Rawatbhata 05 April 2024
We are pleased to inform that 42 students from Core Engineering Departments (EE/CE/ME) visited the most prestigious Heavy Water Plant, Kota which is an integrated unit of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd Rawatbhata (NPCIL) under Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India.
About the Plant:
Heavy Water Plant, Kota is located at a distance of 65 KM from Kota Railway Station under Rawatbhata Tehsil of Chittorgarh District in Rajasthan. It is adjacent to Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant (RAPP) & Rana Pratap Sagar Dam. The Plant is integrated with RAPP for its requirement of power and steam. It was commissioned in 1985. It is the first one based on H2S-H2O exchange process and has complete technology developed indigenously with the close interaction between Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and the Heavy Water Board.
Heavy Water Plant, Kota was conceptualized, designed and engineered based on pilot plant study at BARC. It is an ISO-9001 (2015) & ISO-14001 (2015) certified organization.
Safety performance record of HWP, Kota is one of the best among chemical industries and plant has received many prestigious awards from National Safety Council, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Institute of Engineers, etc. Indigenously developed solar energy based steam generator has been installed and commissioned at HWP, Kota which is first of its kind application in India for process industry.
The students could get an exposure of basic working principle of Rana Pratap Sagar Dam. On the way they also visited the Mukundra Hills National Park.

The students of B.Tech 3rd year along with the Teachers of University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur visited MNIT Innovation and Incubation Centre Jaipur on December 18, 2023.
About MNIT Innovation and Incubation Centre JAIPUR
MIC is a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) sponsored by DST-GOI, New Delhi established in December 2016. It is registered as a society under the Rajasthan Societies Act, 1958. MIC extends incubation support to startups primarily but not limited to the areas of Product or Process design/Re-design, Material or Process innovation, Information & Communications Technology.
This visit was conducted for students of UEM Jaipur under Institute Innovation Council (IC) with a primary objective to provide a platform for Conceiving, Realizing, Promoting & Nurturing knowledge based Innovation & Entrepreneurship amongst all the aspiring entrepreneurs. It was coordinated by Prof.
Govind Rai Goyal, Prof. Dr. Anurag Hamilton and Mr. Bhanwer Lal Saini.

The Valedictory Session for the Soft Skills Classes, conducted by Prof. David D. Perrodin, was held on 5 April, 2024 at Basement Seminar Hall. This session marked the culmination of a week-long journey of learning and growth for all participants.
The event commenced with the felicitation of Prof. David D. Perrodin by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Sharma. Prof. Perrodin was honored with a token of appreciation in recognition of his exemplary leadership and dedication throughout the duration of the classes. His unwavering commitment to imparting essential soft skills and fostering personal development has been instrumental in shaping the experiences of the participants.
Following the felicitation, students had the opportunity to share their reflections and experiences gained during the Soft Skills Classes. Each testimonial highlighted the significant impact of the classes on enhancing communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Overview:
ACEHACK 3.0, a 24-hour hackathon organized by UEM Jaipur, unfolded on 6-7th April, 2024, at the UEM Jaipur campus. This dynamic event saw a robust participation of 550 individuals physically present for the hackathon. Notably, the event introduced the innovative Catch the Flag (CTF) challenge for the first time in Rajasthan, drawing 65 eager participants.
Distinguished Guests:
The event boasted an illustrious lineup of guests, including Dr. Ravi Prakash Meherda, IPS, DG - Cyber, Rajasthan Police, as the esteemed Chief Guest. Joining him were distinguished figures such as Shri Kapil Garg, IPS, Ex-DIG, Rajasthan Police; Shri Mahendra Lal Kumawat, IPS, EX-DGP, BSF; Shri Praveen Thakur, CTO, Nordek; Shri Nand Kishore Yadav, Founder RNS Cyber Solution; Shri Pawan Choudhary, Cyber Expert and Consultant; and Shri Hargovind Bansal, CEO, Hnnoix India Ltd.
Mentorship:
The event benefited from the guidance of over 30 mentors who generously shared their expertise to nurture the participants' talents.

This event was part of a nationwide initiative involving 28 states and 101 colleges simultaneously launching a unique graphic novel titled "101 Reasons Why I Will Vote for Modi" authored by Shantanu Gupta. The book has quickly risen to the top charts on Amazon, particularly resonating with young voters during this election season. The nationwide book launch at UEM Jaipur not only generated awareness and enthusiasm among first-time voters but also achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a national record.
