A bunch of students from University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata have launched a start-up - a media company named Ekapiens. They have already tied up with several colleges and Universities as Media partner. They are also the media partners of Techkriti - Technical Festival of IIT Kanpur. They have covered the Technocruise - Technical Festival held in association of University of Engineering & Management (UEM) and IIT Kanpur. IEM was honored by the Outstanding Engineering Institute (East) award, UEM was honored by the Most Innovative Private University award, and Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti was honored by the "Edupreneur of the year" award on February 18, 2017 at the Hotel Taj Lands End, Mumbai by DNA newsgroup, BBC Knowledge. The students of University of Engineering & Management (UEM), have won several prizes, one after the other in several competitions all across the city. They have won Square Out(Rubik's Cube+Riddles+Sudoku), got 1st prize in Mathemagics, 2nd prize in BizTech (Business Quiz) and 2nd prize in Eureka(Business Plan), pitching the idea of Ekapiens (a media start-up company by the students of UEM) in the different colleges of Kolkata.
