Prof Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice-Chancellor of UEM Jaipur represented the University of Engineering & Management (UEM) at a Medical seminar/panel discussion on "how to control the growth of diabetes in the society". All speakers alongside me in the discussion were doctors - general medicine, oncologists, neurologists. He was entitled with the responsibility to speak on "what role engineers play to control diabetes?" He spoke on the research being conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA for protecting the healthy cells that are transplanted into the body of a diabetic patient replacing the pancreatic islet cells from the immune system of the body.
