The students of University of Engineering & Management (UEM), have won several prizes, one after the other in several competitions all across the city. They have won Square Out(Rubik's Cube+Riddles+Sudoku), got 1st prize in Mathemagics, 2nd prize in BizTech (Business Quiz) and 2nd prize in Eureka(Business Plan), pitching the idea of Ekapiens (a media start-up company by the students of UEM) in the different colleges of Kolkata. Date - 25th January, 2017 A press release in Ananda Bazar Patrika on 22nd February, 2017 about the Mega Job Mela-2017 held at UEM campus, New Town, Kolkata on 25th January, 2017. More than 30 companies recruited 162 students from this Mega Job Mela. 5000 applicants from all over West Bengal visited the Mega Job Mela.

IISc Bangalore is the topmost pillar of technical education in the country. The most important aspect of the meet is that two students of the UEM students' placement cell will get chance to interact directly with the HRs of top companies.
