On the second day of the IEMECON 2024 (25th October 2024), at UEM Jaipur, participants and attendees engaged in a series of enlightening keynote sessions, featuring both online and in-person presentations by renowned experts from around the world. The day began with two online keynote presentations. The first, delivered by Dr. Yaduvendra Singh, focused on resonance sensors. After this, an engaging keynote by Dr. Rajkarn Singh from Huawei’s Edinburgh Research Center, who presented on the topic of serverless computing. Dr. Rajkarn’s keynote provided valuable perspectives on how serverless computing is transforming the cloud infrastructure and highlighted its potential applications in scalable and efficient computing solutions. In addition to these online presentations, an in-person keynote was delivered by Prof. Jasmin Grosinger from Graz University of Technology, Austria, on “RF Design for Ultra-Low Power Wireless Communication.” Prof. Jasmin’s presentation underscored innovative RF design techniques, emphasizing solutions for ultra-low power consumption in wireless communication systems, a topic of great interest to both researchers and industry professionals. Prof. Jasmin expressed her gratitude for the warm reception she received, extended by Associate Deans Prof. G. Uma Devi and Dr. Mukesh Yadav, as well as faculty members from the department. Doordarshan - On our return from Sri Ganganagar back to Jaipur today, we headed straight for DD Rajasthan, invited to talk in their Proshnottori show, which consists of discussions on Society, Education, Health, Quiz and then a lot of Entertainment. We enjoyed and tried to answer the questions that were asked to us for guiding the students and parents, but most importantly enjoyed the dance and entertainment shows, along with their quiz show. God has gifted us with people like you, with amazing talent. Very less TV anchors across the world are as good as you. Everyday we learn a lot from you. We have now completed doing UEM Technical Bonanza on 8 different dates, involving 250 schools from Rajasthan and 50 schools from Bihar and Jharkhand at 8 different places of the country. We are happy to be a part in 7 of these places. These pictures are those of the Sri Ganganagar (the border area of Rajasthan to Punjab and Pakistan). We conducted 6 different competitions - Nirmana (Science Model Competition), Pythagoras Star and Pythagoras Pro (Maths Quiz for class 9, class 10 and for class 11 and class 12 respectively), Tech Art (Technical Drawing competition), Curiosity (General Quiz), Bio-Brilliance (Biology Quiz). 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were given away event-wise. Also, the Champions School and Runner-up School Awards were given away to the best performing schools. The Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) conducted a visit to the Department of Physiotherapy today, consisting of Dr. Sanjeev Jha (President), Dr. Ruchi Varshney (Treasurer), and Dr. Joji John (General Secretary). The team thoroughly inspected the department’s infrastructure, reviewing facilities and resources available for both students and faculty. They engaged in meaningful discussions with the students, gaining valuable insights into their educational experiences and challenges faced in their training. It was a great pleasure for us to inaugurate and welcomed the International Conference on Internet of Everything, Microwave Engineering, Embedded Communication and Networks (IEMECON) organised by the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR at the Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur. This conference organised by the University is its flagship conference. It received 769 paper submissions with only 72 papers having been accepted for presentation, making it a less than 10% acceptance ratio which is considered a tremendous success. The Pre-Conference Tutorial for IEMECON 2024 was successfully held on 23rd October, featuring an insightful session titled "Exploring the Internet of Things (IoT) and Web of Things (WoT): Methodologies, Approaches, Applications, and Future Trends." The tutorial was delivered by Mitra Tithi Dey, Assistant Professor and HOD of the Department of Computer Science at NNDC (University of Calcutta), and a research scholar at Jadavpur University. During the session, Ms. Dey elaborated on Sensor Integration in the IoT architecture, offering an in-depth understanding of how IoT systems are structured. She further delved into real-world applications such as Smart Waste Management, along with other use cases like Smart Cities and Precision Agriculture. UEM JAIPUR NPTEL local chapter has been selected as one out of the top 200 local chapters of the country, for consistent performance in NPTEL examination for 8 years. This is out of more than 3700 local chapters, they have. NPTEL is a common learning and examination platform for all engineering students of the country, conducted by the Govt. of India in association with the IITs and NITs. We thank all our students of UEM JAIPUR for this wonderful performance in their exams, and their teachers, our colleagues for motivating them always.
