All-terrain vehicle means an engine-driven device with the following specifications: net weight of 2,000 pounds or less, width of 48 inches or less, equipped with a seat designed to be straddled by the operator designed to travel on three or more low-pressure tires. A low-pressure tire is a tire with a minimum width of six inches, designed to be mounted on a rim with a maximum diameter of 12 inches and inflated with an operating pressure not to exceed six pounds per square inch.

The term “All-terrain vehicle (ATV)” means engine driven device with the following specifications: a net weight of 2,000 pounds or less, which has a width of 65 inches or less, wheelbase of 94 inches or less, equipped with a seat designed side by side for a driver and a passenger, four or more low-pressure tires, engine size not to exceed 1,000 cc., equipped with a steering wheel stock. The BAJA SAE team used material AISI 1020(DOM) for manufacturing which contain carbon% 0.18-0.23% yield strength of 350MPa tensile strength 420MPa.

Though there were many hurdles difficulties still finally completed their ATV manufacturing through software analysis and ready for Mega ATV championship 2017 and acquired 2ND position.

2. GO-KART

go-kart, also written as go-cart (often referred to as simply a kart), is a type of open-wheel car. Go-karts come in all shapes and forms, from motor less models to high-powered racing machines. Some, such as Super karts, are able to beat racing cars or motorcycles on long circuits.

The Students of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur designed and manufactured their own car – a Go Kart and participated in the National Kart Racing Championship and emerged champions of Rajasthan. The students of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur have developed this “Go Kart” at their own Mechanical Workshop. It was completed in a year. The pre final year students of 2015 batch gave their optimum inputs and achieved their goal. They grabbed the 1ST POSITION in Rajasthan at the National Kart Racing Championship preliminary round.

  1. STUDENT FORMULA RACING CAR

The team Elite Chariot students of UEM MOTO SPORTS had manufacture the student formula car in the workshop. The formula one car is a single-seat, open cockpit, open-wheel racing car with substantial front and rear wings, and an engine positioned behind the driver.

The project was started with the basic structure followed in any automobile industry with market survey, designing, manufacturing and giving it a proper finishing.

The Students of 2016 batch of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur designed and manufactured their own car and participate in SAE CONVENTION 2018 and won award for best suspension design.

  1. NUMITOR-18
  • Numitor-18 is an “E-Series Bike”, which runs by paddling and motor as well. The motor used in this vehicle is of 250 W and operated on 24 V DC and the motor gets its power by ESC in controlled manner. Battery installed in this bike is a Li-ion battery (18cells assembled together) which gives output of 24V and 54000mAh capacity. Numitor-18 has range of 15-20Km with speed of 15Km/hr.
  • Aerodynamic air vents are made to allow air circulation around the ESC, BMS and the battery to reduce rise in temperature while operating.

The dashboard comprises of an ignition key, Android phone-based speedometer, battery level indicator, headlight switch and also the horn switch. Charging port is mounted on the top of the body.  The battery supports fast charging. It approx. requires 1hr. to charge 100%. Also, Smartphone charging port is available to charge the phone while riding.

It is done by the student of 2017 batch where the students’ of 2018 batch also involved learning and they learnt how to initiate and do a project along with seniors as well as with faculty.
