Workshop on “Women Leaders: Shaping Academic Excellence for VIKSIT Bharat

The University Grants Commission (UGC) organized a one-day workshop “Women Leaders: Shaping Academic Excellence for VIKSIT Bharat @2047” on 13th December 2024 at Dogra Hall, IIT Delhi.
The event marked a significant milestone in empowering women leaders in higher education and aligning academic excellence with the vision of a developed India by 2047. A total of 724 women leaders from various academic roles across the country participated in the workshop. The attendees included directors, deans, heads of departments, registrars, financial officers, and controllers of examinations.
Discussions centered around the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its initiatives aimed at promoting gender inclusivity in higher education. Key initiatives included:
Gender Inclusion Fund: Promoting equitable opportunities for women in education.
GATI: Ensuring institutional growth and gender parity.
Vidyanjali Programme: Encouraging community participation to enhance educational standards.
The speakers highlighted the importance of women’s leadership in driving innovation, fostering inclusivity, and shaping academic excellence for the future.

University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur successfully conducted the Board of Studies (BoS) Meeting for the Department of English & Humanities on 8th July 2026, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, curriculum innovation, and quality-driven higher education. The meeting, held at the Dean's Office, was chaired by Dr. Mukesh Yadav, Associate Dean – Academics & Foreign Relations and Head, Department of English & Humanities, UEM Jaipur. The University was privileged to welcome Dr. Deepa S. P. Mathur, Head, Department of English, University of Rajasthan, as the External Expert Member. A distinguished academician and renowned scholar, Dr. Mathur shared valuable insights on curriculum design, academic quality enhancement, and the integration of contemporary developments in English studies. The Board undertook a comprehensive review of the proposed curriculum, course structure, and syllabi for the upcoming academic session, ensuring alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The deliberations focused on strengthening: Interdisciplinary learning and holistic education Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Skill development and research orientation Communication, critical thinking, and employability skills AI-assisted language learning and digital pedagogy Academic writing and contemporary literary studies The expert member appreciated the Department's progressive academic initiatives and offered constructive recommendations to further enrich the curriculum in line with evolving national and global educational standards. These valuable suggestions were warmly welcomed and will play a significant role in strengthening the Department's academic framework. The University was privileged to host an esteemed panel of external experts: Prof. Rajesh Solanki – Chief Juror, Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Jaipur Chapter Prof. Anil Mehta – Professor, Banasthali Vidyapeeth & Retired Head, Department of Business Administration, University of Rajasthan Prof. Manoj Meshram – Chairman, QCFI, Jaipur Chapter, Rajasthan Region The Board conducted a comprehensive review of the existing curriculum, focusing on enhancing academic relevance, industry alignment, and student learning outcomes in accordance with evolving business practices and global educational standards. Key discussions during the meeting included: Updating course content to reflect current industry trends and business requirements Strengthening skill-based and experiential learning components Enhancing assessment strategies under Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Introducing emerging interdisciplinary concepts in management education Improving communication, leadership, and employability skills among students Encouraging greater student participation in quality assurance and academic excellence initiatives The expert members highly appreciated UEM Jaipur's phygital learning model, which effectively integrates physical classroom teaching with digital learning platforms to deliver a flexible, engaging, and future-ready educational experience.
