signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Implementation of Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Program (AEDP) under National Apprenticeship Training, today on 24th December, 2024 at City Office of UEM Jaipur, Lal Kothi, Jaipur.
New Education Policy 2020 emphasises to bridge Education-Employability gap among students. Apprenticeship is tried and tested model to improve employability of students. In accordance with that UGC has issued revised Guidelines for Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) to offer Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Program (AEDP) in 2024. Under which HEI are required to offer Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programs (AEDP) for undergraduate level programs with mechanism to industry-academia linkages and outcome-based learning of students.
Board of Apprenticeship Training (Northern Region), {BOAT (NR)} Kanpur is providing apprenticeship training to Degree and Diploma holders through National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). In recently released Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) guidelines, NATS has been tasked to work and collaborate with HEIs to implement AEDP.
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to establish a close relationship and cooperation between the HEIs and industries / establishments to ensure that apprenticeship training component of the students enrolled in AEDP enabled undergraduate level programme is covered under National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) which is governed under the provisions of The Apprentices Act 1961 & The Apprenticeship Rules 1992 as amended thereafter so as to meet the below listed objectives of AEDP:
1. To improve the employability of students of undergraduate level programmes.
2. To focus on outcome-based learning in undergraduate level programmes.
3. To promote active linkage between the HEIs and industries/ establishments.
4. To bridge the skill gap among students by effective implementation of AEDP in partnership with HEIs and BOAT(NR)
Shri Manas Khawas, Assistant Director, BOAT(NR), Ministry of Education, Government of India and Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Registrar and Provost of UEM Jaipur signed and exchanged the MoU in presence of Prof. Ashutosh Gautam, Manager Admission, Mr. Shashikant and other members.
