Prof. Indrani Bhattacharyya, Head, Research Council, University of Engineering & Management (UEM) was invited for the prestigious position as member of steering committee of International Symposium of Optomechatronic Technology (ISOT), a truly multidisciplinary #Conference on Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Opto-electronics. Prof. Bhattacharyya of UEM Kolkata was the only professor of India to be present in the prestigious steering committee. She also gave her Invited Talk on 8-Nov-2016, Tuesday from 9:00-9:30 am, which created attention amongst the #Scientific_Community. It created a scope of immense #collaboration of UEM Kolkata with prestigious Universities all over the world and also, our students to take part in ISOT in near future. Prof. Bhattacharyya proposed ISOT-2017 to be held in India, and UEM Kolkata & Jaipur to be the host. The steering committee of ISOM, International Society for Optomechatronic Technology has accepted the proposal. The speakers were:- 1) Prof. J. W. Kim from South Korean Institute of Technology 2) Prof. Toru Yashizawa from Tokyo University-Founder member of ISOM, Prof. Wong from Korean Institute of Technology 3) Prof. Rainer Tusch - President of ISOM from Germany 4) Prof. Muzutani from University of Osaka 5) Prof. Jonathan Koffman from Germany 6) Prof. Hidetoshi Katori, Department of Applied Physics, The University of Tokyo, Japan. It is a probability that Prof. Katori may be awarded Nobel in next year. 7) Prof. Y. Otani, General Chair, ISOT 2016 8) Mr. T. Sakamoto Mayor of Tokyo-Itabashi City 9) J. Tsujiuchi, Prof. Emeritus, Tokyo Institute of Technology. Prof. Bhattacharyya visited Riken Industry, Material Fabrication Lab, Topcon Corp. followed by Opto-electronic lab visit at Utsunomiya University, where there is a huge scope of Indian students wiring under professors of USA, Canada etc. www.uem.edu.in

Date of the DST Science camp in UEM, Kolkata - 16-20 Jan, 2017 The University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata is organizing the DST Inspire Science Camp on 16-20 Jan, 2017. The Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt of India sponsors this camp to the top reputed Universities of the country, where school students having more than 88% marks in class 10 (WBBHSE and CBSE) and 95% marks in class 10 (ICSE) can attend and get lectures and practical trainings from top professors of India and abroad. The professors who come to teach these students are of international repute from the IITs and professors from abroad. The basic objective this DST Inspire Science Camp is to attract talented young students to undertake study of science at a very early stage and to help build the required critical human research and development base of our nation. THE CAMP IS TOTALLY FREE OF COST !!! The dignitaries addressing the participants are: 1) Prof. Bary C Sanders - Chair of Institute of Quantum Information Science, University of Calgary, Canada 2) Eminent Biologist Prof. Dr. Syamal Roy, Vice-Chancellor, Cooch Behar University 3) Dr. D.P. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur is proud to share the successful completion of an Industrial Visit to the SAS Delhi office by our students enrolled in the SAS Collaboration Program. This visit was a significant milestone in our ongoing industry-academia partnership with SAS, designed to connect classroom learning with real-world applications in the dynamic field of Data Analytics. During the visit, students had the unique opportunity to attend multiple keynote sessions led by SAS experts, covering: Hands-on tools and technologies Real-world case studies and insights Advanced topics in analytics and business intelligence The students were guided and mentored throughout the visit by our esteemed faculty members, Prof. Jyoti Anand and Prof. Soumya Sen. University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur was honoured to host the inspection team from GHRDC (Global Human Resource Development Centre)—a prestigious ranking body for BCA, MCA, and Engineering programs. The expert panel from GHRDC comprised: • Ms. Mekhla Sinha • Ms. Aradhana The day began with a Central Presentation, where our respected Registrar Sir elaborated on key institutional strengths such as internship opportunities, startup culture, national rankings, patents filed, IIC activities, impactful publications, and funding achievements. Following the presentation, the GHRDC team visited the key academic facilities across both Academic Block 1 (Engineering Departments) and Academic Block 2 (BCA & MCA Departments), exploring state-of-the-art facilities like the GSS Lab, Solar Lab, Mechanical Workshop, Central Library, Innovation Lab, IoT Lab, and Antenna Lab. Each Head of Department proudly showcased their department’s highlights—from hands-on industrial training and notable publications to strong alumni networks and multiple placement offers. The GHRDC panel expressed appreciation for the sincere efforts of our faculty, the collaborative spirit of the departments, and the continuous support from the university management in fostering academic and professional excellence. University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur is proud to share the successful completion of a Workshop on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), conducted by the Department of Physiotherapy on March 18, 2025, at the UEM Jaipur campus. The workshop aimed at equipping our students with critical life-saving skills and emergency response techniques. We were honoured to have Dr. Gaurav Patni, renowned CTVS Surgeon from Manipal Hospital, as the resource person for the session. His expert guidance and hands-on training provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of CPR and its real-world applications. Key highlights of the session included: Importance of early CPR intervention in emergency scenarios Step-by-step demonstration of CPR techniques Practical training on mannequins for real-life simulation Strategies to manage emergency medical situations effectively The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from around 80 students, who engaged wholeheartedly in the learning process. Their active involvement, curiosity, and commitment to mastering essential healthcare techniques were truly inspiring. As a gesture of gratitude, our Hon’ble Registrar Sir presented a token of appreciation to Dr. Gaurav Patni for his invaluable contribution to the session. This initiative aligns with our commitment to practical, hands-on education and the holistic development of future healthcare professionals.
