Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti
Chancellor
Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti is the Chancellor of University of Engineering & Management. He is the recipient of the IETE Gold Medal for highest contribution to Indian Industrial Electronics. He is a teacher in Engineering & Management and is an alumni of IIT, Kharagpur.
Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee
Vice Chancellor
Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee is currently the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur. He completed his Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala specializing Nano-Science and Nano-Technology. He is pursuing research in the same domain in addition to Computer Vision and Speech Processing. He is a known name in the field of Applied Robotics and has conducted several National level workshops in Robotics. He played an active role in the introduction of Applied Robotics amongst the graduate students back in 2005, when work in this field was just at a nascent stage. Now he is an author of 23 SCI International Journals research papers and many other international and national journals and conferences. He is a member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Computer Society of India (CSI) and IEEE. He is also a member of Academic Council and Governing Board of other Universities and is the Chairman, Academic Council and Vice-Chairman, Board of Management, UEM Jaipur. Prior to pursuing Ph.D., he completed his B.Tech. from Kalyani University and his M.Tech. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and then did collaborative research with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and developed some Robotic platforms for use of research at the NUS. In his administrative role, he is currently implementing Choice Based Credit System in the University syllabus. He introduced the School of Management in the University, and has also started courses in cross-cultural disciplines like Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT). He is constantly into new ventures like starting of a full-fledged hospital in the University campus for the students and teachers, building new auditorium, seminar halls, board rooms etc. Under his leadership, students are always encouraged for developing new industry-standard projects like industry-ready ATV, industry-standard gaming console etc. and many other industry-ready products. He has developed many new laboratories including an industry-standard mechanical workshop developed by him. He has also ventured into development of an industry-standard Electrical workshop which would be used for imparting pre- industrial Electrical training to engineering graduate students as a replacement of trainings that are imparted to graduates after joining industry, and would help industry productivity. He organizes regular conferences and workshops both in India and abroad, where professors and academicians from all across the world meet under a single roof. He takes active initiative in organizing regular meets of industry personnels and reputed academicians to bridge the gap between industry and academia. Cross- cultural programs like celebration of National Science Week of Rajasthan by the Govt of Rajasthan, Technical Bonanza organized by Govt. of Bihar, Govt. of Jharkhand, technical exhibitions in association with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) etc. are held under his active leadership.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Sharma

Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Registrar and Provost of University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur is a Professor of Physics with more than 28 years of teaching experience. He is recipient of many awards and accolades in his long teaching career like “Best Academic Leader of the Year Award (Higher Education)”, “Best Registrar of the Year Award”, “National Eminent Academic Leader Award” from International Institute of Organized Research (I2OR), Ministry of MSME, Government of India, “Outstanding Teacher for Excellence” award in academics by Institute for Technical and Scientific Research Foundation, “Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar” from Centre for Education Growth and Research.
His academic profile has been selected in “100 Eminent Academicians of 2021” by International Institute of Organized Research, Ministry of MSME, and Government of India. Dr. Sharma is also a life member of Indian Society of Technical Education. He is a member of ISTE, IEEE, and many other technical and professional bodies. He is a reviewer and board member in many of the renowned international journals like Science Publication, SPIE journals, and Kuwait Journal of Science. He has published 18 patents, 14 research papers, and 12 books.
Dr. Sharma is Director of School of Engineering, UEM Jaipur, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and President of Institution Innovation Council (IIC). He is also Coordinator of AICTE, NBA, NAAC, UGC, NIRF, and ARIIA. His vision for the next 5-10 years is to make a suitable contribution to develop policies for Education 4.0 and train students for Industry 4.0 so that the overall impact of Skill-Based, Outcome-Oriented, Research-Based Technical Education can be felt across society.
Prof. Dr. Umesh Gurnani
Controller of Examinations
Dr. Umesh Gurnani is designated as Controller of Examination at UEM Jaipur and also the Nodal Officer for National Academic Depository (NAD) – Digilocker, an initiative by the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) and a mandatory compliance from UGC.
Dr. Umesh Gurnani completed his Bachelor of Engineering in the year 2006 from the University of Rajasthan. With a strong background and Master’s in Industrial Engineering and his Doctorate in the field of “Ergonomics & Engineering Design,” he has been very enthusiastically contributing to the Education & Research sector for the past 15 years. For the last 11 years, he has been associated with UEM (University of Engineering & Management) Jaipur as a Head of the Department in Mechanical Engineering.
He has successfully executed ASDC Automotive Skill Development Council programmes, NPTEL local chapters, ISHRAE Chapter, SAE Collegiate Club, UEM Motorsports Club and mentored more than 60 projects for students of Mechanical Engineering for UG and PG scholars. Under his guidance, students of UEM Jaipur were able to score the topmost ranks in the BAJA SAE event & NKRC Go-Kart competition 2017.
His research work is mainly focused on Total Quality Management, Ergonomic Evaluation, Value Engineering & Reverse Engineering. He has experience working with corporate Mahindra Satyam Ltd., Hyderabad, for the initial 5 years of his career as a Design Engineer with an onsite client GE Consumer Appliances, USA. At UEM Jaipur, he has also been leading the Placement Cell for 6 years, focused on rigorous training and mentoring of students and placing the candidates for profiles with the best future prospects.

Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Pro-Vice Chancellor, UEM – a premier organization in the education sector in India, has started many entrepreneurial ventures. He is also the Director of the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) and the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata.
He was a Project Manager with extensive experience in planning, execution, monitoring, communicating with stakeholders, negotiating with vendors and cross-functional teams, and motivating members. He is a Computer Engineer with extensive research experience while doing a Master’s in Computer Science.
Dr. Chakrabarti has created groundwork for the Industry-University alliance with Nokia and UBC.

Prof. Dr. Sukalyan Goswami

Sukalyan Goswami has received his M.Tech in Information Technology from IIIT-Bangalore in 2006 and his B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from VTU, Karnataka in 2004. He has more than 10 years of teaching experience, 5 years of research experience and couple of years of industry experience. He has 14 international publications out of which 4 are Springer book chapters, 8 IEEE conference proceeding publications and 2 international peer-reviewed journal publications. He is pursuing research from BIT, Mesra. His research interests are grid computing, cloud computing and network security. He is currently engaged with University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata as Registrar and Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering department.
Prof. Dr. Debika Bhattacharya

Debika Bhattacharya obtained her B.Tech and M.Tech from Calcutta University in Radiophysics and Electronics, PhD from Jadavpur University in Electronics and Telecommunication. Presently, she is Dean (Academics) and Controller o Examinations (COE) in Institute of Engineering and Management. She has more than 22 years of teaching and research experience. She has published many papers in reputed journals and conferences. She has completed several AICTE and DST projects. She has been awarded with “Distinguished Leader” in engineering field in 2018 by Venus International Foundation. Logical thinker and strong communicator with noted success of 50+ international publications in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier including books, book chapters, journals and conference papers, 2 patents and 20 million INR funding in Grants. Her Research collaborations include Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, Bennett University, Jadavpur University. She worked towards NBA, NAAC accreditation and ABET. Worked as Faculty advisor of IEEE Communication Society Student Chapter as well as IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Student Chapter.
