{"id":6685,"date":"2019-08-22T02:18:10","date_gmt":"2019-08-21T20:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uem.edu.in\/uem-jaipur\/?page_id=6685"},"modified":"2019-08-22T02:18:10","modified_gmt":"2019-08-21T20:48:10","slug":"faculty-recruitment-procedure","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uem.edu.in\/uem-jaipur\/faculty-recruitment-procedure\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Recruitment Procedure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FACULTY RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING &amp; MANAGEMENT, JAIPUR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Creation of posts, method of recruitment and procedure of appointment to such posts \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The employees shall consist of the following categories, namely:<\/li>\n<li>Teaching staff<\/li>\n<li>Non-teaching staff<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The teaching staff of the University will comprise of the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Professor<\/li>\n<li>Associate Professor<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Assistant Professor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2<strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Recruitment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2010\">\n<li>i) The University will issue all-India advertisement for recruitment to the teaching posts in leading national dailies\/electronic media and make appointments thereto on all India basis on the recommendations of the Selection Committee as per UGC Regulations ON MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS AND OTHER ACADEMIC STAFF IN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES AND MEASURES FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF STANDARDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION 2010.<\/li>\n<li>ii) In order to attract best talents, the University may make rolling advertisements whereby eligible candidates\u00a0\u00a0 can\u00a0\u00a0 submit\u00a0\u00a0 their\u00a0\u00a0 applications\u00a0\u00a0 for\u00a0\u00a0 different\u00a0\u00a0 faculty\u00a0\u00a0 positions throughout the year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>3<strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Minimum Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The terms and conditions with regard to the minimum qualifications and other terms and conditions as prescribed in the UGC Regulations ON MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS AND OTHER ACADEMIC STAFF IN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES AND MEASURES FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF STANDARDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION 2010 and amended from time to time, shall be followed.<\/li>\n<li>In addition to\u00a0 the\u00a0 above,\u00a0 the\u00a0 Vice-Chancellor\u00a0 may\u00a0 prescribe\u00a0 in\u00a0 consultation\u00a0 with\u00a0 the concerned Dean of Faculty Council, to the Academic Council such specification or any other condition as required for the post to be filled up.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The minimum qualifications required for the post of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor are as under:<\/p>\n<p><strong>(i) Professor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned \/ allied \/ relevant discipline having secured minimum 65% marks in class X, XII, Graduation and Post Graduate and published works in foreign journal of repute.<\/li>\n<li>b) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university\/college, and\/or experience in research at the University\/National level institutions\/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level and conducting at least two sponsored project\/research or consultancy jobs of high value.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) An outstanding professional, with an exceptional accomplishment established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned\/allied\/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials. The person should have proven record of having high level network in Industry and\/or Academia.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>(ii) Associate Professor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned\/allied\/relevant disciplines. Throughout minimum 65% marks will be required to be eligible.<\/li>\n<li>b) A minimum of\u00a0\u00a0 five\u00a0\u00a0 years\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 experience\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 teaching\u00a0\u00a0 and\/or\u00a0\u00a0 research\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 an academic\/research\u00a0 position\u00a0 equivalent to that of\u00a0 Assistant Professor in\u00a0 a University, College\u00a0 or\u00a0 Accredited\u00a0 Research\u00a0 Institution\/industry\u00a0 with evidence of doing more than one sponsored project\/research or consultancy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>(iii) Assistant Professor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 65% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master\u2019s level.<\/li>\n<li>Degree level in a relevant subject from a recognized University.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant grade\u00a0 which\u00a0 is regarded as equivalent of 65% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university shall also be considered eligible.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptionally brilliant student with 70% above marks throughout class X, XII and B. Tech degree from \u2018A\u2019 category institution\/Universities may be appointed subject to his\/her completing M. Tech degree within three years of such appointment. This exception is only for B. Tech degree course.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>4<strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Shortlisting of Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) The prescribed qualification and experience will be minimum, and the mere fact that a candidate possessing the same will not entitle him \/her for being called for interview.<\/li>\n<li>b) The University will have the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview, based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee constituted as per the Regulations for this purpose, to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed or by any other condition that it may deem fit.<\/li>\n<li>c) The Scrutiny\u00a0 Committee\u00a0 for\u00a0 applications\u00a0 may\u00a0 evolve\u00a0 criteria\u00a0 for\u00a0 shortlisting\u00a0 the candidates to be called for the interview as per the UGC Guidelines in consultation with the Vice Chancellor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>5\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Reservation Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The rules and procedures, prescribed by the State Government, Govt. of India, MHRD and UGC in respect of the Reservation policy for reserved categories shall be followed.<\/p>\n<p>6<strong>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Process of Selection<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) The overall selection procedure shall incorporate transparent, objective and credible methodology of analysis of the merits and credentials of the applicants based on weightages given to the performance of the candidate in different relevant dimensions and his\/her performance on a scoring system proforma.<\/li>\n<li>b) Universities may\u00a0 assess\u00a0 the\u00a0 ability\u00a0 for\u00a0 teaching\u00a0 and\/or\u00a0 research\u00a0 aptitude\u00a0 through\u00a0 demonstration lecture classes in a class room situation or demonstration on the capacity to use latest technology in teaching and research at the interview stage.<\/li>\n<li>e) The process of selection of faculty member position shall involve inviting the bio-data with duly filled Performance Based Appraisal System proforma developed by the University.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Selection Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>7.1) The\u00a0 <strong>Selection\u00a0 Committee\u00a0 <\/strong>for\u00a0 the\u00a0 post\u00a0 of\u00a0 <strong>Professor<\/strong>\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 University shall\u00a0 have\u00a0 the following composition.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Vice Chancellor or his\/her representative shall be the Chairperson of the Selection Committee.<\/li>\n<li>An academician nominated by the Vice Chancellor.<\/li>\n<li>One expert in the concerned subject nominated by the Vice Chancellor.<\/li>\n<li>Dean of the concerned Faculty Council, wherever applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>7.2) The <strong>Selection Committee<\/strong> for the post of <strong>Associate Professor<\/strong> in the University shall have the following composition.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Vice Chancellor or his\/her representative shall be the Chairperson of the Selection Committee.<\/li>\n<li>An academician nominated by the Vice Chancellor.<\/li>\n<li>One expert in the concerned subject nominated by the Vice Chancellor.<\/li>\n<li>Dean of the concerned Faculty Council, wherever applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>7.3) The <strong>Selection Committee<\/strong> for the post of <strong>Assistant Professor<\/strong> in the University shall have the following composition.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Vice Chancellor or his\/her representative shall be the Chairperson of the Selection Committee.<\/li>\n<li>An academician nominated by the Vice Chancellor.<\/li>\n<li>One expert in the concerned subject nominated by the Dean of Faculty.<\/li>\n<li>Dean of the concerned Faculty Council.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>7.4) The Registrar, and while the office of the Registrar is vacant, the Deputy Registrar nominated by the Vice-Chancellor for the purpose, shall be the ex-officio Secretary of the Selection Committee.<\/p>\n<p>7.5) At least two members, including Chairperson and one subject expert shall constitute the quorum.<\/p>\n<p>7.6) The University shall issue to each member a Notice before the meeting, stating the time and venue of the meeting. Meeting of the Selection Committee shall be fixed after prior consultation with, and subject to the convenience of Vice Chancellor\u2019s nominee and of the nominated experts.<\/p>\n<p>7.7) Recommendations may be made with a condition attached to the concurrence of the future events.<\/p>\n<p>7.8) The Selection\u00a0 Committee, after considering a candidate for the post of Professor or Associate Professor, may, if it is of the opinion that he or she will be suitable choice for the next lower post, can make such recommendation. If any candidate is recommended by the Selection Committee for appointment in relaxation of any of the prescribed conditions relating to qualifications, age, experience etc., it shall be so stated and recorded.<\/p>\n<p>7.9) When the Selection Committee considers it fit to recommend a higher initial pay or advance increments to be offered to a selected candidate, it shall be with approval of the Chief Finance Officer.<\/p>\n<p>8\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In case of selection to two or more posts on the same date, the recommendations shall invariably be\u00a0 made\u00a0 in\u00a0 order\u00a0 of\u00a0 merit\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 selected\u00a0 candidates\u00a0 for the purpose\u00a0 of determining seniority in service.<\/li>\n<li>Number of posts advertised may be treated as indicative and not exhaustive. The University shall have the right to increase\/decrease the number of posts at the time of selection and make appointments accordingly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>III. The Selection Committee\u2019s recommendations, shall remain valid for a period of one year from the date of such approval.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In cases\u00a0 of\u00a0 any\u00a0 disputes\u00a0 any\u00a0 suites\u00a0 or\u00a0 legal\u00a0 proceedings\u00a0 against\u00a0 the\u00a0 University,\u00a0 the jurisdiction shall be restricted to the Courts in Chomu, Jaipur.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FACULTY RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING &amp;
