Eligibility

  1. A person, who has obtained a Master’s Degree in any discipline from any university or institution recognized by UGC or such other degree with at least 60% marks throughout his/her academic career, is eligible to apply for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme.li>
  2. A person, who has obtained a postgraduate Diploma/Degree of two year duration or more from any university or institution recognized by UGC with at least 60% marks throughout his/her academic career, is eligible to apply for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme provided that such candidate has completed at least a total of five years’ of graduate and postgraduate study in a recognized university or institution.

Entrance Test Pattern

Admission to the Ph.D. programme will be purely based on the following test of 100 marks :
a) Admission Test (pen-paper) format (60 marks, 2 hours duration) –
i. Aptitude – 50 marks
ii. Eng Writing Skill – 10 marks
Secured marks will be converted to a scale of 10.
b) Candidate’s Secondary, Higher Secondary, Graduation and Post Graduation percentage of
marks to be converted to a scale of 10 each, will constitute 40 marks.
c) If the candidate is GATE/NET qualified, he/she scores 10, else 0.
d) Subjective and objective evaluation of the publications, if any, of the candidate – 10 marks.
e) Interview – 30 marks.
